What version does Behold validate to?
Is it the one in the GEDCOM file header (example below) or always 5.5?

Brett,
Behold's GEDCOM validation does not currently validate to specific versions and does not understand the specific syntax of any particular version. It is also not comprehensive and won't find everything.
Right now, it detects certain illegalities common to all versions, including some illegalities that other GEDCOM checkers won't find. It also will check all the GEDCOM tags, and ensure they are allowed in the version specified.
But a GEDCOM file that does not produce any errors is not guaranteed to be completely valid.
When I add GEDCOM export to Behold, I will be ensuring that completely valid GEDCOM is exported, and at that time I likely will add input validation of GEDCOM 5.5 and 5.5.1.
