I'll be very excited to get my hands on a copy of the alpha release. The only thng I like about FTM is the All-In-One chart. No one else has anything like that. It sure looks like Behold will go above and beyond that!
Behold will be very different than other program you've ever seen. Charting is something not currently in Behold (and I may or may not add it in the future). FTM's All-In-One chart has that great purpose of putting it up for everyone to see, but after that, it really isn't useful in helping you do your genealogy research.
The alpha will be out in a few weeks. I'm working hard to get the distribution shell of it ready. My Blog will keep you posted on this.
Thanks for the update. As a programmer, I know how many loose ends there are at the end of a project, and can only guess at the amount of programming required for this effort.
Well, what can I say, I like it......as you say nothing wrong with pastel colours, easy on the eye
With that, this may be my last appearnce here before you archive this bit, I can see you are getting excited, after all these years all your hard work is about to launch upon the world, I wish you all the luck in the world for its rececption
Thanks. I wanted something very distinctive in addition to my Behold sun logo that would make my Behold pages stand out from the rest - sort of like Behold itself.
As far as the release goes: Yes, I am getting very excited. It's still got a way to go, though. My initial plans weren't to release it until beta in July, but I'm happy to get all this administrative setup and web stuff done with so I won't be as distracted while I finish up the features.
And I'm not planning to archive this forum yet. I'll just add a few new categories (e.g. Feature Suggestions, Bugs to Squash, etc). It's my Blog that I'll be archiving (but it will still be around as a link at the bottom of the new one).
Thanks again, Dave, for your interest and encouragement. Not long now.
