My daughter has a history class where they are studying historical figures on our family tree. Does 'Behold" or any other program allow you to select a "To individual" and a "From individual" for Ancestry/Descendant charts? We really don't want all the extra people on the charts.

Most genealogy programs do have individual-to-individual charts, sometimes known as relationship charts. If that's all you need, then I believe the free version of Legacy has this. See: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/rptRelationshipChart.asp)

What Behold does that is different from the rest is it allows you to "Instant Organize" on a person. If this is your family tree and mostly contains your own relatives, then the resulting report will be everything about everyone who is related to both of you, organized in a logical way that is easy to understand and customize.

A future version of Behold will include a relationship calculator that will display next to every individual in the report, their relationship to a person you specify. It won't just show a single relationship, but will show multiple ones and optionally indicate the ancestor(s) that begin that connection. Oh, and it will show relationships through marriage as well. This is currently on my Future Plans page for version 1.3, although I must remark that the first prototype of Behold I had made 10 years ago had a simplified version of this, so the proof of concept is there.
