It took me several tries, but I think I’ve successfully fixed the Auto Organize function. I’ve changed its basis from depth of father and mother’s ancestral lines, to using the average ancestral generation depth. I now store that value for each individual and it can be displayed if desired.

The nicest part of it is that I can use that number to pick out all families in a file that have a combined husband/wife value over a certain threshold. What this means in English is that now all the relevant families from a file can be automatically displayed.

When I add program options in Version 1.1, I’ll include an option for setting the desired threshold level. This will allow fine tuning to allow more or fewer families to be selected by Auto Organize.
