I’ve split my Future Plans into an extra version and reestimated the dates of upcoming versions. I’m excited about the things coming up, including many new features that will be unique to Behold because of its design that makes it very different from all other genealogy programs. I’ll try to get a version out before the end of the month, another one in June, and then maybe I can finally get the Beta out in July.
In this upcoming version, I’m working on getting the AFN tag merging done. I’m now very excited about that, because it will be the model for the way I’ll eventually allow the linking of people in different GEDCOM files (planned for Version 1.3).
I also want to finally deliver my promise to handle non-traditional names correctly that I promised to kartiksubbarao back in January.
Sorry for the delay to those people who have kindly sent me their GEDCOMs for me to test with. I haven’t yet customized Behold to work cleanly and look good with your files. Hopefully I’ll get to that next month. I have a funny work policy with regards to my things-to-do. I often work as a “stack” rather than a “queue”. Instead of doing the thing that’s been on the list the longest, I often do the most recent thing first. Something buried deep on the list may take a long time to get done. But either way, as long as work continues, it still results in good and noticeable progress!
