I’ve been looking for the right deal for a computer for my younger daughter. Her homework last Spring was starting to include a lot of projects and reports and I was being squeezed out of a lot of my own computer time for Behold development. So for Behold’s sake, she needs a new computer.
Over the last few years, since I bought my older daughter her own computer, I had noticed that prices seemed to be lowest each year in September and October. You can wait until Boxing day for the same prices again, but then you have to fight the crowds.
Yesterday I saw the best package deal in a while for what we wanted, and this morning I ran out to Future Shop and got one. An HP Pentium 4 3.06 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 200 GB HD, Lightscribe DVD+/-RW, 48x CD-ROM, HP 17″ LCD Monitor, HP PSC1510 All-In-One Printer, for a package price of $800 Canadian (after rebates).
So my older daughter has her Celeron 2.60 GHz and my younger now has her Pentium 3.06 GHz, and I’ll continue my Behold development on my 600 MHz computer I bought in 1999 that still runs Windows 98. Next, I guess I’ll have to get my wife a laptop so I can have my computer all to myself. :-)
