I found out that Ancestral Quest has released their new 2002 version. Looking at their Ancestral Quest 2002 New Features page, it looks like they’ve got some good people working on the updates now. Their ideas are going in the right direction, with a Research Manager and To Do list, Spell Checker, Bookmark Individuals, Export of everything to GEDCOM, Research Log, Sorted Place List, Sources List and Citations List. Plus some things they should have had from day one including: a Name List View, Global Find/Replace, Documentation, Quick Entry of Names and Places, and other stuff. It looks like its definitely worth a download of their demo to see what they’ve done.

Well … I still am not enamored by how hard it is to enter source info into AQ. And their To Do / Research list is not well done. They attach To Do items to people. I think you should attach them to sources. Overall though, if you like their interface, it fares well compared to everything else that is out there.
