Hi Louis, Building family trees the way you described above only makes sense if you are absolutely certain that the data provided by MyHeritage (or other sources) is proven and correct. Thanks JBonevich for letting me know that link is gone. I'll remove it from my article. You might still be able to find the document at archive.org. GEDCOM specs are still technically copywritten documents by the LDS Church. Hopefully one day, they'll make all their early GEDCOM specs available to everyone.

Unfortunately it appears that the GEDCOM 4.0 link to Gisbert's copy is no longer working. I get a 404 Not Found when clicking on www.genpluswin.de/gedcom/Gedcom_4.pdf. Anyone happen to download a copy they can make available?
