Active Individual Displayed - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 18 Apr 2005

I'm not sure how knowing the active individual would be helpful in the Organize functions, except for Instant Organize. In that latter case, if you hover over the Instant Organize button, then you will see who that person is as a tooltip and in the status bar.Other than Instant Organize, what is it you see that ...

Active Individual Displayed - Forum post by rwcrooks in Feature Suggestions - 18 Apr 2005

I'm still working on figuring out the organize function, but it seems like it would be helpful to have the "active individual" name displayed on he status bar.

Main family focus in table of contents - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 7 Apr 2005

Good question! It is decided on the basis of who has the most significant collection of ancestors in the file. Auto Organize will always come up with the same primary family, unless the people in your GEDCOM significantly changes. You can quite easily select different people to center the report on. This is done ...

Imported gedcom successfully from FTL-Question about gedcom tags - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 7 Apr 2005

So far I've only entered a few of the more common tags into Behold as default tags. I did plan to enter the rest of them for the release of version 0.99 beta, although now that you mention it, I could move that up a bit in the schedule. In the meantime, you can enter any tags you use that are currently ...

Main family focus in table of contents - Forum post by Beth in Report a Problem - 7 Apr 2005

How is the main family, for instance Cok-1 decided? The one selected is not the primary family that I am keying on. Possibly the user could select the primary family? Just trying to understand how this selection and numbering process works?Kindest regards,Beth G.

Plimus - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 3 Apr 2005

I've had second thoughts on this. The biggest problem with the free e-mail accounts is that they are throwaway. The account could vanish at any time, and they are not reliable for e-commerce.I suspect most adults who take on genealogy as a hobby, must have a regular e-mail account with their ISP and maybe have ...

My goodness. I really have given you a tough time tonight.I'll need more information to figure this one out. I've tried various combinations with and without a middle name or initial sent to my own e-mail address, and I can't get it to not work.Louis

Error message when attempting to open downloaded program - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 2 Apr 2005

Nope. I haven't heard of that one yet. That's a bad one if you can't even run the program.I'll have to try to determine what DLL it can't locate. Behold doesn't include any DLLs at all, but does use a few that should be on all Windows systems.I'll e-mail you directly and hopefully we can solve it. Louis

Plimus - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 2 Apr 2005

Thanks for letting me know this. I didn't realize it, but by default Plimus does not accept Hotmail, Yahoo and other free accounts. Their reason (they say) is that 97.3 percent of fraudulent orders are submitted from e-mail addresses originating from a free e-mail service. I can see that being a problem for ...
