Czech diacritics - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 26 Oct 2005

You can e-mail it to me. My e-mail address is at the bottom of all my Behold web pages. (I don't want to post it in this message because it is spammable, but the e-mail displayed at the bottom of the page is javascript so it isn't.)Louis

Dear Louis,Thanks for your quick reply.I looked at the GEDCOM that was exported from my PAF file to Behold, and it showed UTF-8 for the CHAR tag as the Character Set that was used.Yes, I'm quite willing to send you a GEDCOM file exported from a PAF file I make. I will expand the file I already made with more ...

Czech diacritics - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 25 Oct 2005

Thanks, Larry, for the nice words.Regarding character sets: Currently Behold will read the ANSEL character set and convert it to the best representation of ASCII, usually with very few errors.I do have in my near plans (see my Future Plans page) to do the same for the UTF character set for version 0.99, ...

Czech diacritics - Forum post by larrycada in Feature Suggestions - 25 Oct 2005

Dear Louis,All my forebears and many of my relatives are Czech. I would like to enter their names and their places in Czech with the correct diacritic marks or accents on the letters. I decided not to use Family Tree Maker, becuse it only supports the Latin-1 character set for data entry. (That's enough for ...

I wanna buy! - Forum post by lkessler in General Discussion - 28 Sep 2005

I would calculate your cost a little differently. Each page of your 400 page printout costs 5 cents a page. And next year when you upgrade, it will cost you $0.00. The year after when you upgrade, it will cost you $0.00. Use Behold for 10 years and it will cost you $2.00 a year, or less than 1 cent a day.As for ...

Keep being squeaky. Squeaky wheels do get the grease. It is something I could squeeze in earlier, but Behold does not currently have an options page, and setting up a whole new window requires thinking about all the options and how they should be organized - something I'm not ready to do yet. However I had ...

WAAAAAA, WAAAAAA, WAAAAA!!!I thought that if I cried loud enough maybe this feature would end up in the product sooner. I'm sure that was loud enough ... maybe not long enough.Or maybe I need to keep asking "Are we there yet?"Just put it in whenever it's the right time to do so. I can wait. After all, I've got ...

I wanna buy! - Forum post by rwcrooks in General Discussion - 27 Sep 2005

Louis,Whatever you did fixed it. Somehow, through the miracles of modern technology $20 (US, that is) magically transferred itself from my pocket to yours, and 16 characters appeared in an e-mail message to me. That's more than a dollar a character! I think I got the better end of the deal, though.Rich

I wanna buy! - Forum post by lkessler in General Discussion - 27 Sep 2005

Wait ... I think I may see the problem. The current BuyNow screen defaults by showing a quantity of 0 licenses. If you press "Checkout" without changing that number, it just reloads the same page. You have to either change the number to 1 or click on the "Personal License for 20.00 USD link" to get to the ...

Yes, I'll make that an option. Probably in Version 1.1I was also thinking about having a tool tip show up containing the source and citation when you hover over the source and/or have it show up in the status bar. Those will be options as well to be added in Version 1.1Louis
