Using source types based on generalized media types as you mention is one way to do it that would work. I agree that going to the micro level is way too much and unnecessary. Thanks for pointing out the country problem. I'm using ip2nation.com's database and I haven't updated it in a while. I hadn't noticed too many problems before. I'll try to update it when I get a chance.
