Adoptions and Blended Families - Forum post by lkessler in Questions and Answers - 10 Sep 2007
Hello Jennifer,
I had designed Behold to understand multiple sets of parents. Children should show up under both their biological and adopted parents.
Now saying that, I've made a lot of changes to Behold since I had first programmed and tested this ability. If it doesn't work it's a bug. For the next version, ...

You're right. It's not just multiple marriages. What is now programmed is that bookmarks are placed only where ID numbers were assigned. Because of that, the husband and wife both have the same bookmark, which is at the line preceeding the first of the two.For most people, it is not too noticeable, because ...

What you describe does appear to be a problem in the way I determine the link back. I used a bit of a trick to generate the link back and didn't take into account that there may be multiple marriages. So I'll see if I can fix that. But an easier way to go back to where you were is to use the blue left arrow on ...

BEHOLD: 98.9d,alpha - Forum post by lkessler in General Discussion - 29 Aug 2007
Thanks Steve,I've been working on Behold for so long that it's getting hard for me to figure out what is a needed feature and what isn't. Trying to make a program powerful, while still being fast and easy to use is not a simple task. And that's especially complicated since I know that everyone uses the program ...

Lenny Lines problem - Forum post by lkessler in Report a Problem - 31 Jul 2007
A very strange bug in Behold was found by Tamura. The problem is I have not been able to reproduce it on 5 different machines. We even both ran it in Microsoft Virtual PC with the same Window XP footprint, but still get different results. If any of you with Behold are reading this, I'd appreciate your help. If ...

Sentence / Paragraph structures under tag "NOTES"? - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 30 May 2007
Oh I have so many ideas ... but it has taken so long just to get here. I probably have rewritten almost every line of Behold (maybe 15,000 lines of my own code) since the first alpha release two years ago.If it weren't for the firm roadmap I've outlined for myself on my Future Plans page, I'd be getting very ...

Sentence / Paragraph structures under tag "NOTES"? - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 29 May 2007
Yes, I will get rid of that extra indentation. That is a bug. Hopefully the notes will appear nice again after I fix that.Unfortunately, there is no real standard as to how programs are supposed to export their notes to GEDCOM. I have to find (or be informed of) the differences, and then do my best to get ...

Sentence / Paragraph structures under tag "NOTES"? - Forum post by lkessler in Feature Suggestions - 20 May 2007
Stephen:I think I see what you're talking about. Notes that are top-level (GEDCOM Level 1) are formatted into paragraphs. But Notes that are level 2 and below are not. An example is a Note that is attached to Birth or Occupation information. The concept was to compress all information about a top-level event ...
